    Don’t want to distract from the game thread, but I’d like to hear how Hoffman is a league average pitcher.

    Arguably a league average fifth starter (if that). But a league average pitcher, hope that gets discussed someplace.

    Yeah, this wind is making this start completely different from what we would see for him normally.

    Also, we've all seen someone come up for a spot start and get demolished in the first inning. It's nice to see someone actually do well so far.

    Agree. Hopefully a good start and he will believe he can pitch in the big leagues.

    Used to be that all these baserunners would be a good sign. You’ll get to the pitcher eventually.

    Now, the starters pitch 5 innings, you may not get a chance to get to him “eventually.”
