I have to say I felt the same at the end of May, BUT this sweep of the Brewers has me standing a bit taller. These last two wins have me at least saying.. hmmm. Maybe!

I hope that MLB doesn’t start drug testing our bullpen . What’s happened to these guys? Magic? I even watched Doolittle throw 2 fat fastballs right in the hitters zones and got whiffs . Luck there,I suppose.

SOme things I've noticed since Antone got hurt.

1. The starting pitcher has been left in there longer, so the soft underbelly of the pen isn't used as much. .
2. The Reds have been winning, so they've generally only used their best guys with no need to use the mop-up guys who get killed all teh time.
3. Amir Garrett is being used more like he'd been used in previous years. Comes in and gets out of a jam, usually against a lefty or a low end righty, then he comes out of the game. Not being used to close against all comers and not pitching beyond two or three outs.
4. Brad Brach is a solid big league reliever and he's now getting the innings that used to go to a turd

Result, better collective bullopen numbers.
