Why does freeman need a start?

I know. Put Naquin at 1B. Stick Shogo in the OF. At this point Bell shows how he plays favorites and how if he dislikes a player. Buried him.

Freeman at least hit some in 2019. 2020 never happened. I count very little from that. See Nicky C for proof of that.

Not going to put Naquin at first, he doesn’t seem to play first base.

But why isn’t Tyler Stephenson playing first? He’s done ok there. He needs a rest? Not seeing Freeman as necessary for first base today.

As for Shogo, they could rest Naquin one day.

I forgot about the other Tyler. This remind me of the Moneyball movie that showed Pitt asking if Hatty was starting at 1B and being told it was still Pena. Even Beane couldn’t control Howe so he had to trade Pena.

    Shogo cannot hit his weight.

Ty Steve, and India, and even Senzel seem to employ a more controlled style of hitting. Not so many strikeouts, more contact. The power hitting is coming on gradually.

Reds offense has done pretty well considering the injuries and the dominance of pitching in MLB. I’m pretty excited about these younger players and hope the pitching side comes up with some good ones too.

i will give david bell credit: he can clearly see that naquin is far better than shogo, contract be damned.

like i've said, if naquin played in japan, he would hit 50 HRs per season.

I like trying India at leadoff for a stretch to see how it goes. He has been hitting. Stephenson needed a day off. He has played several days straight.

I’ll give Bell some credit for trying India at lead off as long as he gives it a week or so. Suarez continuing to swing for the fences every AB wasn’t cutting it there.

Oviedo has pitched 20 innings for the Cardinals so far this year and has walked 15. He's given up 13 runs (12 earned).

We have no idea if that’s true or not. Bell refuses to give him anything resembling consistent at bats. He hit pretty well for half of the mini-season last year.
What would you say.....ya do here?

Dropped a little thank you note to the Cards clubhouse for Blandino not being an option for Bell for awhile. His little heart is gonna break when he looks down the bench when he needs someone to make an out off the bench and he's no there.
