Bell seems to be managing for the long term. The Reds management does not believe this is their year to compete. Bell will be here next year no matter what the record is.
Expensive talent will be allowed to seek their large contracts elsewhere and the Reds will rely on younger inexpensive talent. It is as though Mike Brown owns the Reds.

The Reds will place RHP Tejay Antone on the IL later today. The hope is that it's just the minimum. With all the issues with the team's bullpen, this really doesn't help.
Bell has already said TA wasn't availabe when asked about hid bullpen use
