I do believe Larkin's onto something when he says that natural ability has a lot to do with it. He wasn't a prolific home run hitter, and messing with his swing to maximize launch angle probably just makes things worse overall, even if a higher launch angle is superior.

There's always a middle ground here, this is a game where natural talent will dictate just how much you can alter your game to what's optimal.
