They still never filled Antone’s spot right
I thought they left Antone's spot open for Santillan.
I'm all for Payton being optioned, regardless.

Snatillan was added yesterday. The 40 and 26 are both filled.

Well they would’ve been filled yesterday then, but now that Payton is optioned there should be a spot left. They never called anyone up to replace Antone, that’s what adding Santillan would’ve accomplishedOriginally Posted by JaxRed

Yeah I just counted the roster on the Reds website, it’s up to date at only 25 players.

The #Reds today returned from a rehabilitation assignment and reinstated from the 60-day injured list OF Aristides Aquino (left hamate fracture), optioned to Louisville OF Mark Payton and transferred to the 60-day injured list CF/IF Nick Senzel (left knee inflammation).

Aristides Aquino has been activated off the 60-day IL and is back from an April hand injury. He was hitting really well in Triple-A. He takes Mark Payton’s spot on the roster.
To create a 40-man spot for Aquino, Senzel goes on the 60-day IL.
Originally it was 4-6 weeks for Senzel. So this is only a couple weeks more. I wouldn't read too much into it. Gives him 2 weeks of AAA time after the 6 weeks.

I don’t think it’s a development, but we‘ll have to see.
The 60-day stay is probably retroactive to Nick’s placement on the 10-day list on May 21. He last played May 17.
So it probably doesn’t change the mid-July timetable, except maybe a few days. But we’ll know for sure when details come out.
