If you had told me at the outset of this difficult run that they’d be 16-13, I’d have been ecstatic. It will be a crime if this front office doesn’t reward this effort with some acquisitions.

Re: Tracking the Reds tough schedule until the trade deadline

Trade deadline is 4pm EDT, on Friday July 30. Reds trail Brewers by 6 in Central. Reds trail Padres by 5 for the second wild card.

Between now and and trade deadline, Reds have 11 games - at home, 1 with Brewers, 3 Mets, 3 Cards, and on road 4 with Cubs.

Brewers have 10 games - 1 at Reds, 2 home with Royals, 3 home with Chisox, and on road 3 with Pirates.

Padres have 12 games including suspended game - 2 at Nats, 3 at Braves, 4 at Marlins, 2 home with A’s, 1 home with Rockies.

Reds appear on the cusp in terms of buy/sell/hold decision. All these games are meaningful for that judgment call. Reds do have a relatively easy schedule after deadline through end of season. Just on a quick read, both Brewers and Padres with schedules arguably a bit more difficult than Reds in final two months.

Reds are 48-45 with 69 games left in their season.

Yea, I think we are 8-8 vs the Brewers on the season now, which is not bad...but just bad timing for that 0-3.

Man, that game 1 loss vs the Mets was a heartbreaker.
7.5 behind Milwaukee for division lead "(Mil was off).
I'll do the wildcard in the next update, not everyone has played yet.

Re: Tracking the Reds tough schedule until the trade deadline

So more games to be played today, but as of now.
    7 games behind the Brewers.

5.5 games out of the wildcard, however:
Phillies are 1/2 game behind us.
Atlanta is 1.5 games behind us.
So the pressure is on to stay in the WC race.

Looks like this thread only gets updated after a Reds loss.

19 wins with 7 to go. I woulda killed for that record when I first saw this thread.

No man I will make sure to update after the next win though, just for you.
Got kind of tired of doing it every day, was going to do it by series.
Still 6.5 back from Milwaukee. The loss today did not hurt us

Disappointing home stand. Reds have played better on the road, hopefully that continues this week in Chicago and NYC.

On the plus side, I think when we entered this stretch, we were 7 games behind (not 100% sure).
We're 6.5 behind now, so at least we treaded water so far and didn't drown.

The Reds are 5 and a half back in the wild card. Seems like they made up some ground there, but the team they are chasing just acquired an All Star without subtracting from the big league roster. The Reds need to quit waiting around for sore armed pitchers to save them and go get an arm or two. if its too pricey, start loading up for next year because there will be more holes to fill over the winter than there are right now.
