    John Sadak

OP thread about announcers got out of hand and closed. I wanted to say Sadak has adapted well and is very pleasurable as an announcer, especially with Welsh.
    May the Lord bless

I actually like him overall and enjoy his enthusiasm. I just think that his accuracy on calls could be a tad better.

    Re: John Sadak

He's gotten better. I wish he would stop calling everything "Front door" and "Back door" though. Welsh will occasionally use those terms but he does it sparingly and not with such loud enthusiasm.. I prefer "inside" and "outside" like most announcers do.
    But that's a minor annoyance.
He has stopped getting excited over every foul ball and doesn't exaggerate things as much as he did in the first few weeks.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Overall, he's good. Just wish he'd dial it back at times. Sometimes I have to turn the sound off for a while and take a break because he can occasionally be exhausting.

Needs to work on his judgement of fly balls but otherwise, he’s been fine. He works well with all of the trifecta of Larkin/Cowboy/Welch.

All in all, a breath of fresh air from the previous announcers.

    Re: John Sadak

Played a lot of video games with my son when he was young and Sadak's enthusiasm reminds me of one of those announcers. For the life of me I can't remember which baseball game it was but we would say a lot of "can of corn" and "swing and a miss" and Sadak's inflection on the latter is pretty dead on. He used it an awful lot last night.

Overall he's like a breath of fresh air. I don't get an impending feeling of doom when he's calling the game.

Like others have said, he's light years better than Thom, and that's all I wanted.

He's not bad at all. He does get a little over the top at time, but so do most announcers.

I think we’d all be majorly pumped if this was our first big league broadcasting gig. I wonder during the ugly games if he ever asks himself what he got himself into.

I enjoy him quite bit. He has a good balance between being a homer while still acknowledging the obvious when things don't go well.

    Re: John Sadak

He still likes baseball which is an improvement over some of our past announcers.

Back off the excitement level a notch and pronounce names as if you were born in Ohio.

Compared to silver spoon Thom he is awesome. I hope he remains the pbp guy for many years.

I still would love Marty to call a game every now and then but I'm sure since his homophobic son was fired that will never happen.
