It's mid-June...I agree. Like someone in the game thread pointed out, hitters aren't exactly having problems squaring him up. He's been getting crushed all year. Good pitches, bad pitches, whatever. Time to move on and wish him well.

He’s not a headcase at all.

He may just suffer from delusions of grandeur.

I mean Artest has been arrested for domestic violence and got suspended for a whole season for fighting fans. What’s Amir done, popped off a couple times and been in the middle of some bench clearing incidents?

It’s a really bad bit to do this whole thing where Amir is some totally unhinged psycho, feels like it’s in extremely poor taste to me personally.

His last five appearances, including this one do not reflect someone whose performance has cratered.

If you want to say he’s been bad all year, so he needs to go, I can understand. I just think it’s an emotional reaction to say it based on tonight.

My only thing is, as bad as he’s been, it seems likely there are still a couple guys on the roster who are worse than Amir and don’t have the track record he does. But I also don’t think pitching here is going to fix him either.

It might be a moot point with the whole sticky ban coming down and everything, but man, Garrett really doesn’t have anything to lose at this point by actually trying to buy into the spin rate phenomenon here.

Tonight is just the proverbial final straw. It's no longer "early" and it's his 8th HR surrendered in under 20 innings. It's time.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Follow Amir on Insta and you would think he was a teacher or ran a charity, or a community organizer. He’s married, about to become a father and is an amazing dog dad. He’s nothing like the way he acts on the mound.

At some point, which is different for all of us, enough is enough.

That doesn’t necessarily make it an emotional reaction.

My only beef with this is that if you think it’s time now, you should have realized that a month ago. He’s actually a better pitcher now, to be honest.

Agreed. The guy's a professional athlete that's gotten into a few scraps. So what? Votto's blown up more than Garrett.

And he seems like a perfectly normal guy otherwise.

Servo gave AG some slack and got burned. It happens.

Re: Garrett has got to go

For me it's the continual implosions by this bullpen, its comical that we have to watch them squander leads on a daily basis. I would say that this is at least 5-7 late inning leads(losses) that we've blown with this pen!!! It's a shame, but I would at this point thrown Garrett in a trade just to get him out of the organization. 8hrs in less than 20 innings is downright awful!!!!

But he pitched well tonight, just had some ugly results. That happens. When it happens after a terrible season so far, I can understand the frustration. But if you watched him pitch, tonight shouldn’t be the final straw.

    He’s hittable, regardless of location.
