    That’s accurate. Mostly because there were far fewer relievers back then.

    Only 26 teams and most teams had a 4 or 5 relievers max. There are around 150 more relievers in the game today.

    In the 70s nearly all middle infielders. Hit 1 HR 33 RBIs in 650 ABs as well. Different time.

    What's with this odd attitude lately that there were no bad teams or players in yesteryear? Its math...to have players with really good stats, other players have to have really bad stats. To have teams with really good records, you have to have teams with really bad records. It's a zero sum game.

    I get that. I think it's just that there are too many teams, so the talent is diluted. With more teams, there are a lot more bad teams...and bad players.
