    DP saves the inning.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Rockies hit four home runs in that inning.

Padres are good yeah, but Castillo getting squeezed bad and lots of grounds finding their way through.

There is. Including today, the Reds have given up 148 runs with 2 outs. They have given up 357 total. That makes 41.5% of the opposition's runs have come with 2 down.

    League-wide? 1715 of 4526. or 37.9%.

Who knew Kyle Farmer would be the Reds best hitter in this series.

Farmer’s OPS is now higher than Suarez’.

Of interest in connection with future shortstop decisions.

How many of these 4 Reds lefties have to get on before a lefty comes in?

In mildly interesting news, Winker has not hit a home run since he hit 3 on June 6.

One ended the inning! Now if its still 3-0 next inning, and the first one gets on against the starter, and the lefty reliever comes in, which lefties will be pinch hit for?

Now Naquin lollygags and the Padres guy gets a double instead of a single.
Man, this team has given up on this game.

Easy decision. Suarez gets payed far more than Farmer. Therefore Suarez plays. Neither are any good. So not a big deal.
Suarez or Farmer one or both may be on the IL before Moose ever gets back.

Whatever the line score, Castillo has been solid today.

Only a big deal if one considers defense an important part of baseball. Better shortstop defender with a higher OPS deserves the nod.

But agree that the higher paid player may win out.
