any chance this game actually gets played tonight?
They aren't all in there tonight, but besides the big two, Votto, Naquin, Barnhart, Stephenson, and India have been about average or better at the plate this year. And of course Moustakas when healthy. Aquino is solid off the bench.
The thinness of the lineup is way overstated.
They aren't a .500 team because they are "only" scoring the 2nd most runs in the league. It's because they give up even more than they score.
If you want to see a thin lineup, look at the much heralded Milwaukee.

I haven’t seen this before.
Usually, Reds players just take ground balls off a fungo bat. Today, Alejo Lopez and Mike Freeman are taking live grounders at third in a soft-toss setup, which is more game like.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Reds have a winning record or .500 vs 12 of the 15 teams they have played this year.
Losing record vs Diamondbacks, Giants and Padres
Reds 39-39
2-16 vs AZ-SF-SD
37-23 vs rest MLB
Run differential
-55 vs AZ-SF-SD (64-119)
+52 vs rest MLB (324-272)
I posted on this earlier today.
Using Lopez instead of Suarez a few times a week makes good sense. Suarez has 320 PAs in the first half season, too many given his struggles at the plate.
I’m glad Bell made that move for tonight. I couldn’t care less where Lopez hits in the batting order.

Brewers have won 8 straight and are now 15 games over. No way this team is gonna catch them . Sellers
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob
