A lot of those post-Oregon takes aren't aging well...

Here is the thing with that. I wasn't too upset after Oregon, it prompted a lot of changes.
The way the schedule set up was two tough games, four easy games, and then a bye week. After the loss to Oregon, you knew this team had a 5 weeks to get things right. Tulsa was a little disjointed because they were working on a ton of things.
I remember years ago OSU opened with Va Tech and then played Hawaii on a short week. The Hawaii game was a poor performance and Urban said after that "we aren't doing that again." I wonder if Day is thinking, "we aren't opening with that again."
After sitting out the Akron game, Stroud looks like a completely different person.
Future OSU opponents.

The defense is looking a little better, but still bad on 3rd down. Indiana converted 4/4 3rd downs on that drive, and all 3rd and 7 or more

Defense is just ok but the offense looks all-world. 21-7 OSU.

Getting pretty ugly for the Hoosiers. 30-7 and a Buckeye punt return to Indiana 30. And a big run by Henderson and a personal foul on Indiana. And a Henderson TD. 37-7. Yikes.

I’m not sure anyone is slowing down this offense let alone stop it. Every single skill player except Stroud would start on an NFL team today if they were in the league now and most of the offensive line would also.
The defense never needed to be good, just good enough and they are approaching that if they aren’t there already. Will be good to see how they react to playing some better competition this month.

Defense allows like 125 total yards yesterday. Indiana is not good, but that’s pretty impressive. The first drive was bad, but I personally do not put too much stock in first drives. It’s all about how the defense adjusts, and they completely shut Indiana down after that. Backup QB or not.
What would you say.....ya do here?
Even if you consider the 1st drive of IU, those are the type of drives OSU's defense is ok with. IU had to grind that drive out. Several 3rd downs converted right at the sticks. Nothing was exactly easy, everything was contested. If you have your guys flying around (like OSU looks to be getting to) The more plays the offense has to run, the more chances they can make a mistake.
But good lord that offense...... crazy thing is, their 6th offensive lineman would start at 99% of the other programs in the country.
I frankly think Wypler is better than Miller. I would expect Miller to transfer out this offseason.

Stroud is better than Bryce Young sorry ESPN...
