Many curious decisons by Bell, but for, by far the most curious was taking out Garcia and replacing him with Hendrix.
Garcia was pitching fine, as well as expected under the circumstances, and most importantly, was throwing strikes. I didn’t see any reason to take him out.
Hendrix has pitched 3 days in row, and even when he’s rested, he’s not an improvement over Garcia.
We saw the results, which were worse than expected, but I don’t know what Bell expected there, what he thought Hendrix could do that Garcia couldn’t.

Yea I mean aside from the ghost runners there’s a good chance that first inning of Garcia’s was scoreless. The second inning he got hit a little but had managed to get the 2nd out and could very well have limited the damage to 1 run yet again.
But Bell brings in a guy who isn’t good to begin with and has also pitched several days in a row. We of course all saw the carnage that predictably ensued.
I mean let’s think about it… If Ryan Hendrix was really good enough to get them out of that jam, and worth pitching a 4th day in a row, why didn’t he pitch that inning to begin with? Just totally out there decision making.
Just weird decision after weird decision from him. He was definitely the anti-King Midas tonight.

This team is done. Ostrich, hendrix, Garcia. Haha wow this team is bad
He'd thrown more than 30 pitches. I don't how much more he had in the tank.
Hendrix had thrown 26 total the past three days.
The fact that were are complaining that Bell put in Hendrix, which people were oddly clamoring for earlier in the game, tells you how bad this bullpen is.

We also had posters here telling those who were clamoring for Hendrix that Hendrix wasn’t a good option.
30 pitches is a lousy excuse, especially for a journeyman reliever like Garcia. His velocity was fine, he was still throwing strikes, getting hitters out. Pitching 3 days in a row, no matter how many pitches thrown is far more taxing on the arm than throwing 30 pitches in that outing.

Bell starts to grow on me, then his inner Tinker rang his bell and he just had to make a move

One funny thing was Hendrix look of astonishment when his fat part of the plate pitches were hammered. Hopefully he looks at the tape and realizes that he threw back to back meatballs that were not missed.

The Reds have to be one of the worst franchises of the 21st century. I figure it'd be easier to be accidentally good w/ this payroll at least a few times, rather than 2/21 years

Go Reds!

This one is really up there with those home losses to Arizona earlier in the year, which also featured insanely bad bullpen output and the opponent pouring it on in extra innings.
These kind of games will certainly loom large in regards to the standings
