Farmer still wincing. I appreciate his willingness and toughness out there and he’s never lets us down with effort.

3 strikeouts in 8 innings today for Reds pitching. 6 walks though.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Yea, we've heard that before.. I am sure Farmer is begging to stay out there, but why risk it when we are down 7-0?
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Possibly, but with a 116 ERA+ seven seasons into his career I'd say he's worked out all right. Picking him instead of Nick Travieso or trading for him at really any point of his Blue Jays sojourn would have good business.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

how can Aquino not know that Stroman is going to keep throwing that off the plate until he quits swinging?

honestly glad we didn't bother using one of the good pitchers today since Stroman is so in his zone

One wonders: a smart team like the yankees regularly signs lefty hitters to take advantage of their 80 foot right field wall. Why don't the reds focus on sinkerball pitchers to prevent all the hat box home runs? Because that's what a smart team would...oh...never mind.

If Stroman is this dominant against the Reds, would deGrom have thrown a negative 2-hitter?

If Miley and Cast aren’t traded it will be the biggest front office failure in Reds history. Miley’s stock will never be higher and he’s under contract for next year. Cast is probably opting out and his stock will never be higher. The Reds future is 2-3 years away when our younger players have a few years under their belt. The FO has an opportunity to add some pieces to help in a few years.

He would have gotten 27 outs in only 7 innings.

Well, another glorious chapter in the Reds’ rich, robust history of midday baseball excellence.

This is as good as it gets.
