Starling Marte is headed to the A’s, Jesus Luzardo is going to Marlins, sources tell ESPN. A 1-for-1 deal in which Miami will cover the entirety of Marte’s remaining contract — more than $4 million. Marte is a free agent this winter. Luzardo isn’t one until after the 2027 season.

Jeez, so in an alternate universe where the Reds are selling right now, they might’ve been able to get a legit top 10 prospect in baseball for Cast.

I don't think anyone would call Luzardo a top 10 prospect at this point. He's a bounce back candidate with a lot of risk now.

And now the Marlins PA system guy is going shopping for The Jesus Lizard albums.

Astros got Graveman from the M’s too, apparently they’re having pen problems like us. Seattle’s clubhouse supposedly not too happy about it either.

They are 9 games over .500 and the first team out in the WC.

    I'd be pissed too.

1 Game back of a team that is making moves to improve.

Talk about a nice middle finger to the team and fans.

The Twins have two 6 run innings today and never had the lead. Trailed 10-0 and 13-6 before their two big innings. Looked like they had a shot to win, but Detroit just got a bases loaded double in the 9th to go back up 16-12. Not your typical Major League baseball game!

Now 17 runs and 0 of them by HR for the Tigers.

One interesting trend so far: Teams are trading for prospects close to the majors or already in the majors. Not too many deals for the high ceiling guys in Single A. I’m guessing the long term data on those acquisitions was not as productive as expected.

Nationals-Phillies game tonight in jeopardy, sources tell @TheAthletic . Nationals dealing with COVID outbreak. Trea Turner tested positive yesterday.
Possible COVID exposure can't help the Nats sell rental guys if they have to quarantine and miss time.
