Well, the Twins were a bit more modern in their approach. They hit 7 HRs on their way to scoring 14 runs and losing 17-14.

They scored 6 runs in 2 different innings but never lead.

One more oddity from the Twins game. They only used 3 pitchers the entire game. 3 pitchers gave up 17 runs.

Jim Bowden is reporting that “he’s hearing a Story/Gray trade to the Mets might happen.”

So scratch off the Mets as a possible landing spot for Story or Gray.

Eduardo Escobar to Milwaukee. Not quite the splash at third I was expecting from them.

That guy can play. Better than their Willy Adames move (on paper) and that turned out really well for them.
Rounding third and heading for home...

Wonder how many times that has happened in MLB history? Maybe count it on one hand?

Looks like the Rangers went for quantity over quality:

Gallo was traded for Josh Smith, Trevor Hauver, Glenn Otto, Ezequiel Duran, Everson Pereira and Randy Vasquez

I don’t think any of them are in the top Yankees Top Ten Prospect list

If the Yankees can field Gallo, Judge, Stanton and Sanchez in a game, a decent pitcher may get 15-20 K's.

Probably a common occurrence in the 20s and 30s since trans had like 8-9 man staffs I think.

JacK Curry corrects the earlier reports on this trade:

The Joey Gallo trade is inching forward. The Yankees would get Gallo and LHR Joely Rodriguez from Texas for 4 minor leaguers: RHP Glenn Otto, 2B Ezekiel Duran, SS Josh Smith and 2B/OF Trevor Hauver. Neither team has announced it officially yet.

Duran is a borderline top 100 prospect this off-season. A 22 year old hitting .290/.374/.533 in a league where the average batter (who is a year older) is hitting .239/.324/.403.

The other guys are very promising too imho. The Rangers may have found their future 2Bman and possibly a closer in this trade.
