I like them fine but I'm kind of glad the fluky Mariners aren't going any further. Tough break for Toronto though, 91 wins and not even a wild card spot.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

The 99 Reds feel their pain.

If this hasn't been stated here, Mike Shannon, the world's worst baseball radio voice has retired. May the players he announced for soon follow... (for the season and for life).

Luis Rojas is out as Mets manager.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Don Long is out as the O's hitting coach. He can't be any worse than Zinter can he?

Aaron Boone got a three-year deal to stay in New York. Color me surprised.

Wasn’t sure where to put this, but a good article at NYT about Brian Snitker and Bobby Cox. This quote should be read by David Bell.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/20/s...bobby-cox.html

“I see a lot of similarities as far as watching the game, letting the game control itself until they have to make a decision,” Chavez said. Pérez said Snitker’s faith in his players mirrored Cox’s."

This made me laugh because I'm three years old.

Thanks for sharing. As you know, I lived in Atlanta through a good bit of Bobby's 2nd run as Braves manager and I'm a fan.
School's out. What did you expect?

If the old man were still alive--God forbid--Aaron would be job-hunting.

Yes, he had a distinctive voice. I kinda liked it. Also, he rarely got excited and was refreshingly matter-of-fact even when
calling big hits. Anyway, he has earned his retirement as an octogenarian.
