The Dominican Reds lost 11-9 to the Pads' DSL squad
17-year-old SS Carlos Jorge had four hits. Jose Serrano had two as well. Malvin Valdez had three. If one of these guys ends up in AA, it'll be a victory of sorts.
ACL Reds are currently losing 7-6 in the bottom of the fifth to the ACL White Sox.
Bonus baby Braylin Minier is beginning to get things sorted out. He's currently 2-3 with a HR (his second). Andruw Salcedo only has 28 ABs, but he's managed hits in half of them. That's a clean .500 BA for those of you who are math-challenged. I'm guessing that won't continue, but it sure does look nice. He's young too-- only 19.
Daytona v. St. Lucie
'Tugas lead, 7-1 in the 9th. Ashton Creal, recently called up to A from an 11-game stint in the ACL, had two hits. Hendrick is 1-3 with a two-run single. Roa pitched really well: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K. Lowers his A- ERA to 3.21. Hellinger's been better: 3 IP, 1 H, 5 K.
Daytona lost 7-4 against Lake County
Michael Feliz was on rehab tonight and should have said no, no, no. Lyon Richardson came in after Feliz's disastrous one inning and did well-- 6 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K. Maybe he's moving in the right direction. Francisco Urbaez is once again hitting over .340 with an OPS over 900 (912) after going 3-4 with his 4th HR and two singles.
Chattanooga beat Tennessee, 4-3
Brian Rey continues to swing a hot bat, clubbing his 3rd HR in AA to go along with a single, two runs, and a couple RBI. He's now at nearly .290 with an OPS 0f 731 in 42 AA games. Drew Mount continues to hit the ball as well, with a 2-4 night. He's at .340/876 in limited AA ABs.
Louisville lost, 3-2 to Iowa
Riley O'Brien pitched really well before tiring in the 5th. Sims pitched a rehab inning and gave up two BBs. So, mid-season form. Not much from the bats for the Bats. Seven guys managed a hit apiece. Alejo Lopez had a double and two RBI in five trips to the plate.
