I kinda lump Raisor and Doug together as when at the top of their game they made this a much better site and they both made rather unceremonial exits from here. I don’t even remember why Raisor left - does anyone?

Doug exiting in a rage over a renowned and prize-winning photograph claiming child pornography will always be one I didn’t see coming.

They seem to have a good enough time glad handing each other on Twitter so maybe all’s well that ends well.

The Napalm Girl photo was put up in one of the Covid threads I’m sure for some shock value but Doug launched into a diatribe about he will no longer be affiliated or come to a site that allows child pornography. Even though I’m 99.9 percent sure you could find that picture on Twitter if you wanted and that’s where he tends to camp out these days.

For the record, I have seen the photo multiple times. It’s an important part of the story telling and awareness of a terrible event and the conditions. There isn’t anything remotely sexual or pornographic about it.

Now, the mods correctly communicated redszone was not the place for said material, but that’s another discussion. Shaming people and implying they were essentially pedophiles over that photo was grossly inaccurate and inappropriate to suggest.

My recollection is that the Reds were coming off a bad season and early the next year posters were predicting the Reds would be even worse, and Raisor insisted that wasn’t possible and became upset with people being too negative. He then asked to be permanently banned.

Maybe there was more behind the scenes or stuff I’m forgetting but he did get frustrated that people were expecting the Reds to lose a lot.

Raisor was in the "there won't be enough innings for the young guys" camp the year after guys like Amir and Cody Reed had clearly shown they weren't starters. Others were upset that the Reds hadn't added any veteran starters after failing to do so had clearly been detrimental to the young guys' development. The season predictably started terribly and then Raisor asked for the self-ban.

Does he even realize that that pic won a Pulitzer Prize and is one the most iconic photos of the 70's let alone the Vietnam war?

McLain did make an error at SS in his debut, sadly despite going 4-5 with 5 RBIs that means he is a bust.

I think he's a CF waiting to happen. Barrero will be the SS. Senzel will probably be bitten by a Tsetse Fly and contract an illness that will cause him to retire. CF is where the need is and McLain was always an iffy bet as a big league SS. I'd get on with that conversion ASAP.
