    Field of Dreams Game

Being an Iowan, I am looking forward to the broadcast tonight. I can't see them doing this every year, as the logistics of getting MLB teams to a tiny town in NE Iowa has got to be a major undertaking.

I am sure Fox will do this justice. The imagery and photos from this game tonight should last a long time.

    Field of Dreams Game

MLB network was broadcasting from there last night.

Pretty cool set up, but there is this monsterous LED scoreboard in the middle of the cornfield.

Why didn’t they just build a manual scoreboard and have some Iowa kids working it? Not a very nostalgic look.

Being from Iowa, I assume this is will be the first baseball game you've ever seen.

Wrong. I've been to two Cedar Rapids Kernels games.

My cynicism meter has been red lining all week, now I know why, this game is really happening.

David Ross apparently let slip the Cubs may be slated for next year.

Have you seen the monstrosities they've built at Wrigley? Nothing is sacred anymore.

If you build it, they will choke.

FS1 is running a documentary on the filming if the movie for those that may be interested.

Fun fact. They had to irrigate to get the corn to grow because they had such extreme drought when they got ready to shoot. It almost shut the film down…

The closest any Cubs fan will get to heaven is Iowa.

    I love the movie.
I love the setting for tonight's game. One of the rare times I've rooted for the White Sox.

While we are all being nostalgic with the Sox, it would be nice to have a 1919 rematch this year.

Chances are slim, but it is Field of Dreams, right?

BTW, watch the documentary on FS1. Some may know this but the orginal screen play and working title was called “Shoeless Joe”. Producers hated the title because it sound like a homeless guy.

Shoeless Joe was the name of the W.P. Kinsella book the movie was based on. I read the book several years before the movie came out and was surprised when I heard they were adapting it for film. It just seemed too quirky and surreal. Shows what I know.
