Nick Senzel, Naquin, Aquino, Or Akiyama?

Who is the Reds CF? Who would you want in that last at bat tonight? Senzel rarely strikes out. The other three guys do all the time.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

In 616 MLB plate appearances, Senzel has struck out 132 times. I wouldn't call that rarely.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

They have a three guys who should be bench players playing IN CF. And with Winker's injury they have two playing in the OF. There really is no great choice.
Shogo should play against pitchers who don't have overpowering fastballs. Aquino should play against guys who throws mainly fastballs. Forget the LH RH stuff when it comes to these two. Play them based who what type of pitcher is on the mound against them. It is not as difficult as Bell is making it out to be. Both players have flaws. But your job as a manager is to put players in the best position for them to have success.

The more I think about this the more I would try Farmer in LF while Winker is out. Put Barrero at SS. But I also don't think Barrero is going to be here long. When Winker went down Senzel would have gotten the call had they deemed him ready. And with this 72 hour thing Senzel may have ticked off the front office and he may not be up here at all now. So maybe Barrero is only here till Winker returns. It seems they are bent on only having a 4 man bench.
I guess Sept will let us know if they call up a guy like Schrock over Senzel then you know Senzel is getting traded this offseason.

Aquino does have too much swing and miss but he does have an .821 OPS & 106 OPS+.

    Naquin is a below average glove, has a .750 OPS & 90 OPS+. He's a tick below average overall.

    Akiyama is a solid glove but can't hit; .560 OPS & 45 OPS+.

I'd say Aquino by the numbers.

Last at bat wasn't the issue ... it was not scoring with the bases loaded and one out in the inning prior.

At this point, I'd play Aquino everyday. ShoGo is a bust ... maybe as a bench OF with limited playing time. Curious about what scout saw what

The correct answer is Starling Marte.

Having said that, I am glad the Reds did not give up Barrero, Lododo, or Greene to get him.

Aquino can at least punish a ball when you are down 1 with 2 out in the 9th.

IMO, you put Aquino in for the first 4-5 innings. If he rakes, then keep him in. If not, meaning the game is likely to be too close for comfort, then put in Shogo for the possible bullpen meltdown.
