Just got home from the show in Atlanta.
Charlie, they miss you.
But they still put on a damn strong show. Mrs. had never seen them until tonight. After Midnight Rambler, she agreed that those 10-ish minutes alone were worth the price of the tickets.
If you have a chance to see them, go and dont think twice about it. Find a way to be there.
My Stones shows go pretty far back. Saw them twice:
1972 - Rubber Bowl in Akron - Tumblin’ Dice tour. Stevie Wonder was the first band and he was starting his prime years. I remember a riot broke out in his set. The Stones’ set was great. They were still young and played with energy and verve. Jagger was great.
1975 -Municioal Stadium in Cleveland - I this was part of the World Series of Rock. Packed stadium, a raucous 80k crowd, J Geils opened and was crazy, rushing the stage was a thing then, and then the Stones were even crazier. Qualudes were at their peak and the crowd was generally totally trashed. Bikers and there was a girl in a sleeping bag taking on all comers. It was out of control. I actually don’t remember the show very well.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
