I think this is it more than anything. For whatever reasons, ome pitchers just feel more confident with a particular catcher behind the dish. Luis appears to like Tyler. There is a long history of notable pitchers who have had their own "personal" catchers.

Providing personal catchers is a bad habit to get into!

The 2nd pitch in that AB was a strike so it balances out.

Reds go full Reds there, stranding runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. They thrive in those situations.

He got 3 clean strikes in the AB and it’s not as if the strike 3 call was some ridiculous pitch 3 feet above the zone. You don’t take those with 2 strikes and RISP. That’s on Joey. Not CB.
