Reds pick up Asdrubal Cabrera on waivers

Marte would have changed the course of the post-deadline season, no doubt. I'm convinced the Reds would still be in the mix had they traded for him. Loved the bullpen moves, but it is now clear that they needed a bat as much as they needed bullpen help. And all we got was Asdrubal Cabrera.

I hope they go after Marte in the offseason, but I doubt they will. A solid RH OF who actually belongs in the outfield (unlike Castellanos) would make this team better. Marte or Chris Taylor, please.

I'm still wondering if the Reds were the team interested in converting Trevor Story to the OF.

Story would’ve helped vs. the lefty barrage they’ve seen. 2019 Geno Suarez wouldn’t have hurt either.
