It was inevitable that the offense—at some point this season—would slump. That’s what they’re doing now. Complete offense slump.
I still can’t bring myself to blame them though. They’ve been there all season up till September. That’s why you gotta pad your record by preparing for a 6 month season, something this organization resolutely refuses to do.

Just by the laws of probability one would have to think they will win at least a couple of series. However, there is nothing that I've heard from the mouths of these players that tell me it would really burn deep in their gut all offseason if they didn't win another series.
I'm not religious but it seems the Reds have been blessed the last couple weeks playing as poorly as they have and still hanging on the 2nd WC. Phillies lost again and hopefully SD loses again.
Maybe their slump offensively will be a thing of the past at least until they get the Dodgers in the WC. Really need LA to get it done today and for the Mets and Giants to play great tomorrow.

It won’t matter if the Reds finish .5 game ahead of the others or 50, it won’t matter if the second wildcard is locked up by the Reds today or in two weeks….as long as they ultimately do is all that matters.
