I like that he was always amused. You know, he was usually laughing at something and sometimes he'd tell you what it was.

    Re: RIP Norm Macdonald

Listened to Conan on Youtube expressing his love for Norm on his podcast. He said the moth joke originally was a punchline coined by Colin Quinn. In that Conan episode, Norm thought he would be on for just one segment, but the producer loved the first segment so much he asked him to do two. Norm had nothing for the second segment, and virtually made up most of it on the fly.

He was truly an amazing and original comedian. I've watched so many Norm videos over the last 5 years. I'd recommend his show with Adam Eget to anyone who would like to see more. I will miss ya Norm!

    Re: RIP Norm Macdonald

I heard what sounded like an Applebees commercial as an actual song on the radio the other day. Turns out it was a song called "Fancy Like" by a guy named Walker Hayes.

I envisioned a not too distant future where the top 10 charts were dominated by songs that are thinly veiled commercials for corporate branding. Then I wondered if we're already there, but it's just getting less and less subtle.

Norm was on the other team. My team. One of the very few comedians I felt I could relate to in my older years.

Everything now is so optimized. Formulaic. Whatever works, let's use our analytics to make it the most effective possible.

Norm was the opposite of that.

This will be my third time saying it here... sucks that he is dead. The world got even less funny, less creative, and less spontaneous as a result.
