Reds are leading a pack of 5 teams within 3.5 games of each other for the last wild card spot with 18 games left, and you are about done? Not much of a fan!

I wish someone could tabulate the number of times people have said "they're done" or "season's over" in all of the game threads this year.

I'd just really be curious to see what that number is.

    Over 9000.

That said, while it’s still a sign of weak constitution, I do get the reaction tonight. That one inning from the Pirates offense so far looked better than the overwhelming majority of Reds offensive innings we’ve seen over the last three weeks now.

I guess Clayton Kershaw is pitching against us tonight.

Or in the past 20 years would be even more interesting.

Correct! And they'd be no more than a half game back tomorrow, still in reasonable position.

Oh, I get negativity. I'm posting some negative stuff myself. It's the "the end of the world is here" stuff that is just ridiculous.

It's good the other teams suck as bad as the Reds do.

I've been a Reds fan for 43 years. I love these bastards. It just makes me sick to my stomach to see us blowing a chance at the playoffs which doesn't come around much. Don't question my Reds fandom.

Really thought a Miley start against the Pirates was the one thing to count on. Team just does not look good.

I think that is a lot of it. So many seasons the playoffs aren't an option. It's been that way for years. This year they have a legit shot and look terrible. Just seem to crumble under pressure.

This is simply a pathetic organization, and it's been that way for almost all of a quarter of a century. It's not changing without new ownership at the top and leadership down the line, people who have pride in the product, and a deep desire to win. You can't go out there with Eugenio Suarez starting a game and BATTING FIFTH ffs when your season is on life support. Wouldn't happen in STL, an organization that's going to sneak into this year's playoffs due to this CIN team's incompetence.
Rounding third and heading for home...
