A 5.51 career ERA in September confirms that. July and August are his best months then the ERA goes up by 2 full runs in September. I'm sure Bell was aware of this which is why Miley got that long rest around the ASB, but he just can't handle a full season. Houston had to take him out of the rotation in 2019 after he was brilliant the first 5 months.
That double play kind of sums up the Reds' stretch "run".

If by miracle the Reds win the wildcard I want none other than Castillo on the mound. And he's pitching until his legs fall off. The offense has to step up.
Part of it is that so many Reds main guys are at or near a bottom tier speed…anyone fairly athletic on the Reds looks like Eric Davis nowadays. To us Harrison Bader is basically Bo Jackson

TBS broadcast is doing some major questioning why a better reliever (Givens or Lorenzen) isn't in the game. They argue that the Reds should be pitching who they would go to in game 7 of a playoff series in this situation since their season hanging in the balance.
