    Instructs Roster Announced

Five SS dot the roster-- Johnson, McLain, Torres, Minier, and De La Cruz. And that doesn't even include Ilvin Fernandez, who played there more than any other position in his brief career. That seems like a lot.

Jay Allen, Yerlin Confidan, Austin Hendrick, and a couple 2021 draftees across the OF. Deivid Alcantara, an 18-year-old from Puerto Rico, is also in attendance.

Ibarra and Triana at 1B. Hinds manning the hot corner.

Catchers, they've got them all-- Trautwein, Astudillo, Mat Nelson, Andruw Salcedo (who hit like a hour afire all season), and a guy named Hayden Jones.

Pitchers include High A SP James Proctor, former Fighting Irish Joe Boyle, and Reynardo Cruz, all of which have huge K totals... and huge BB totals.

Interesting to see the guys they're high on in High A and below (and possible breakout players for next season).

    Doug has more.

Does he have to pay for that ball? Does he think the Reds are just made of money?

He reminds me so much of Red-era Kevin Mitchell.

Just a massive human being who shouldn't be able to swing a bat so quickly.

I can't see how a pitcher ever throws him a fastball.

I see his weight becoming a large problem if he doesn't keep it in check. He's about as big as any functioning baseball player can be.

Yeah, he's definitely going to have to tone up and probably drop about 20 lbs (at least).

But he's a fun guy to dream on.

Of the kids in the videos, Jay Allen is the one who impresses me the most-- he showed big-time power, good patience/ plate approach, an ability to fight off pitches, and elite speed in less than three minutes. You can see the talent there.

I love Allen but his plate approach looks very raw in that clip. SSS of course and his other tools are likely all off the charts. It’s the hit tool that always worries me about prospects like him.

Elly is the one who stands out for me. The way the ball just flies off the bat reminds me of the Acuna/Soto types. It’s just different.

    Thanks for posting these btw.
