There are people who think it will do much more than double. I'm protecting myself in case they are right.

I honestly don’t understand the art market, but then again, I do dabble in the baseball card market, which makes as much or as little sense.
Isn't their a difference between the original painting and a print of the painting.

He's talking about a print of a photo, for the painting consider a replication, real paint on canvas by an artist talented enough to remake something.

I think crypto/bitcoin is going to crash and then subsequently will require intervention from the government. I am staying out of that.

    How is the Crypto looking?

I really don't follow it all that much, I know it has been down. FWIW, I think whenever you see the big drops in Crypto, I think that signals a time to buy.

It bounced pretty hard, ethereum is going to flip bitcoin in market cap before too long. Just too much utility vs. bitcoin, which has very little.

How much of ethereum's rise has to do with NFT?

A good bit, but it's also just utility in general, last year it was decentralized finance really having a moment, this year NFTs.

Oh yeah, not saying you can’t make money off a scam. Congrats. Definitely a pyramid scheme scam that is simultaneously horrible for the environment, though.

I don't think it's a pyramid scheme, and it will be a common thing in the long run, but it's true that it's bad for the environment. But no one cares about that if they are making money.

Assuming this was directed at me.... My $11K at start of thread is $13,562 right now. Was closing in on $17 at one point. I am actually 100% fine with it staying below $14K until Jan, because I made the first $7K my 2021 Roth contribution, and plan to make another $7k right after new year for 2022. So staying at $14 is advantageous to me in short term.

Declines as buying opportunity. Very possible. but not for me. This $14K will be the extent of my Crypto adventure. It's just a little side bet.
