Helluva Relay Throw!
Helluva Relay Throw!
Judge hustled to first to get a hit. Then thrown out at home on a deep hit to LCF off the monster. Judge got caught not hustling in the first when he hit it off the wall and held at first. Apparently, he values beating out a single over getting a double by hustling to 2nd from home when he hits it off the wall.
Lead back to 3…

Big hit by Verdugo to drive in a run. Red Sox 4-1.
Raucous crowd at Fenway. I’ve been to a couple Sox-Yankees games there and there is no love lost. First game I went to was in the early 80’s and I wasn’t used to East Coast bad blood crowds. As a midwest guy, I was like like “jeez, these people are serious”.

The throw in from the outfield was perfect to hold the tying run(Judge who loafed to 1st thinking he just hit a game tying HR) to 1B as first priority, then Bogaerts looks up and hes he's got a good shot at home and whips it there for the big out and the tying then moves back a base as it was then the hitter up with now 2 out! Big play in the game!

Just how many nanometers does ESPNS Kzone measure when it come to strikes?
Why again are we using the same humanoid methodology since the mid 19th century?
Kzone

“Guéziec mentions that there are three subsystems that produce the shaded, virtual box during broadcasts. The camera pan-tilt-zoom encoding subsystem calibrates cameras in real time. The measurement subsystem detects the pitch’s flight, measures the stance of the batter, and calculates if the end result is a ball or a strike.
The trajectory, or measurement component, is perhaps the most important of the three subsystems. Guéziec informs that ball’s flight data is sent to computers running a unique algorithm from three separate cameras around each Major League ballpark. These sensor cameras are typically located down each foul line and above home plate.”

Here is tonights trivia question I’ve been pondering. (Meaning I don’t know)
The AL east had 4 90 win teams this year.
Has that ever happened in any division since the 3 division system?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb...?ocid=BingNewsPhil Nevin crushed by Yankees fans over costly decision:
The Yankees had something cooking in the top of the sixth inning in the AL Wild Card Game. They scored their first run of the game on an Anthony Rizzo home run to make it 3-1 Boston. Then Aaron Judge reached on an infield single, bringing Giancarlo Stanton to the plate with one out and the Red Sox leading 3-1.
Stanton, who crushed a ball in the first off the Green Monster, hit an absolute bullet off the wall in deep center. Nevin, who is the Yankees’ third base coach, sent Judge. Judge was easily thrown out at home by a nice relay from the Red Sox.
Given how hard Stanton hit the ball and that Judge was on first, Nevin should have known to hold Judge at third. Instead, he sent the big man to the plate, and the Red Sox got him out easily for a huge save.

‘78 AL East but that was when MLB was 4 divisions, not 6.

It's always nice to watch Rizzo strike out
