I don't know what Castellini owns outside of the Reds and his fruit distribution and related business, but I'm willing to guess that the pandemic had an effect on his holdings if he has lots of holdings in tourist related businesses - he just sold a Phoenix area resort, and I bet its cash flow has been tough the last 2 years.

For what its worth, this ownership group is better than the last ownership group which was better than the one before it (i.e. Schott), but none have been what the city and fanbase deserve.

Then they had a fire sale and watched attendance plummet. When they rebuild, they don't get the walk-up crowd. Over the past decade, that walk-up crowd has measured somewhere around 700,000 - 750,000 people over the course of a season.
Everyone is forgetting that while the Cincinnati area has grown at a nice, steady clip since the 1990s, more than a dozen sunbelt and west coast markets have simply exploded in population growth over the past 30 years. Three current top 10 metro areas didn't even have baseball until 1993 (Miami), 1998 (Phoenix) and Washington DC.

Atlanta, Miami, Phoenix, DC, Dallas, Toronto and Houston are now all 2.5-3.5X the size of the Cincinnati market. San Diego, Seattle, Tampa and soon Denver will be 2X the market size.

There are also now at least seven markets needing teams that one could argue are more viable and lucrative markets NOW than Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Kansas City and Cincinnati (based on population and demographics)

Austin/San Antonio needs a team and is already 2x the Cinci market size.
Charlotte has gone from 40% smaller to 30% bigger
Ditto Las Vegas with even faster growth than Charlotte
    Sacramento is now larger
Orlando is now larger and in hypergrowth mode
    Portland is now larger
    Nashville will soon be bigger

Montreal, Vancouver BC and Silicon Valley could also be part of this list

Castellini sells Arizona resort for $85M
That $85M buys you four years of a Moose and three years of a Shogo. Chump change compared to what you need to run an MLB payroll and farm system over a decade.

Pretty sure it's mostly Russian literature and Brazillian politics.
