No, the Reds-Dodgers rivalry was pretty intense. The sanctimonious Steve Garvey particularly stuck in my craw. Garvey, Lopes, Russell, Cey. And Lasorda. Doesn’t take much to get me riled up about those 70’s-80’s Dodgers.

I hated the Dodgers. But there seemed to be a respect between the two teams. Not like the Cardinals of today. But Yes Garvey was the first sports figure I despised. Most of his own team didn't like him. Sutton for starters.
