Re: Covid-19, Part XV - Mr. Ed can't find his medicine...

I was taking a look at the UK's case chart today as it felt like we were getting a bit of Delta deja vu with our cases declining and theirs on the rise. However, I didn't realize until looking at the chart that the UK's cases never really went down that far after their July peak. They briefly reached a 50% drop from that, but cases immediately started ticking up again, and they've been in a pretty bad plateau for months now. It seems they are looking to retest their July highs again, too. I certainlyl hope our experience with the back half of our Delta peak looks different from theirs. We're at about 50% down from our peaks, so now would be the time for the inflection point if we're to follow the UK at all.

Right. Rogan allegedly got some hack to prescribe him pony pellets.

I got my flu shot about ten days ago. No issues. Not even a sore arm. BTW, not every insurance plan pays for it. I had to pay $25 at Costco for mine

Really? I have pretty poor insurance and they paid for mine!

I get it every year, usually around the beginning of Oct. A couple of weeks ago I went to the local pharmacy with my girls to get my shot. My eldest, age 9, was sitting there and asked the pharmacist if she could get one as well. Took it like a champ, pretty proud of her.

Flu shots tend to be free with insurance, I also know that in the healthcare industry they often set up in a common space on office floors and give it there.

Since I no longer work in the healthcare industry I will be going to CVS, my wife made an appointment the other day and got hers, just had to show her insurance card

Yeah, but a lot of people have sucky insurance, and then you get sucked into getting a free flu shot but then you get charged for administering the flu shot. It happened to me once before. The next time they offered a free flu shot, I said I didn’t have insurance, and they gave me the shot anyway. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

The 7 day average for global daily reported Covid cases ticked up between Octomber 17th and 18th. That's the first time that has happened since August 30.

Every city and town near me holds multiple free flu clinics. Also, with our state insurance regulations it's hard to get insurance that won't cover a flu shot at a local pharmacy.
