To me though, it's preferable to jumping ship before the season is over. I'm sure the backroom deals and conversations would still take place, but I think the NCAA needs to remove the incentives for the turnover to happen prior to the end of the season.
1964. The Cardinals and Yankees were underachieving. The Cards had already fired their GM Bing Devine and Busch was talked out of firing manager Johnny Keane and replacing him with Leo Durocher because it didn't look good firing the GM and the manager mid-season. Yogi was in his first - and last - season with the Yankees. Both teams got hot in September and wound up facing each other in the World Series. The Yankees already made the decision to fire Yogi and wanted to hire Keane. Keane was all for it but they waited till after the Series to announce it. Meanwhile after the Cards beat the Yankees Yogi was fired and the Cards wanted to re-sign Keane to an extension and called a press conference to announce it. Right before it started, Keane gave Busch a letter of resignation he wrote in September and went on to manage the Yankees for a little over a year.

Looks like Mark Stoops is staying put.

Would Kelly not being head coach in the playoffs have any bearing of ND being in or out of the playoffs?

It sounds like you just hate the SEC......

It has to be a factor.

Yeah. The Big 10 hates the SEC and the SEC could care less about the Big 10.

Hate is too strong of a word. I just don’t like the teams and the schools. They’re all a bit much.

I save hate for things that really matter.

It’s ok. We know Ohio State has taken more SEC beatings than Goldman Sachs.

If they get Fickell I could see Freeman coming to UC which would be excellent for Bearcat fans

1996. Only time they’ve ever played.

Interesting. There’s usually a “low” max bet on stuff like this so it’s not gospel, but earlier I saw one book had Freeman at even money and Meyer at +2500. Both of those guys chances seem to have gone up.
