Agreed. I think Frazier potentially is a 850-950 ops bat. He kept getting jerked around with NY. It’s worth a shot. Maybe strike gold. If not, move on at a low cost.

It does look like we'll see Kolozsvary as backup C with possibly Farmer getting some looks too. Koz has a good defensive reputation and ain't getting any younger at 26. Plus, most important to the Reds FO, he'll make the league minimum and is already occupying a 40-man spot.

The bright side is that many of the young pitchers coming up should be familiar with him?

I doubt we will see Farmer catching if he's going to be the everyday SS unless there's an emergency.

Sorry to see the news on Severino. I'd hoped he'd be our way to give Kolosvary another year in the minors, but apparently not. Milwaukee is just way ahead of us.

I liked Severino as well. I thought he'd be a good fit. He didn't want to be a candystriper so he's not here.

I'd be up for Frazier as an alternative to Aquino. Maybe a DH platoon with Moose.

2022 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot is official, for consideration by the BBWAA. David Ortiz, Álex Rodríguez and Jimmy Rollins are among those eligible for the 1st time. Curt Schilling, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens are on for the 10th and final time.

I hope there's a bright side there. I've no problem with Kolozsvary as the strategy, though I would have preferred an interim guy to give him most of the season at Louisville and I thought Severino was about the best of the available catchers (at $1.9 he seems like a very good deal to me). Kolozsvary did put up a pretty good line against lefties last year so perhaps the thinking is he can cover some of the starts against LHers with Stephenson either sitting or giving Votto a break. If that's the case, it could turn out to be a pretty good call.

Yeah, I just had looked at BR. Looking at MILB, I think the .747 looks like it just represents his slash while at Chatt.

The San Francisco Giants have been incredibly aggressive in looking to fill out their rotation, which currently consists of only Logan Webb. The expectation is that they will sign multiple starting pitchers in the coming days. After last year, players want to go to San Francisco.

Right-hander Anthony DeSclafani and the San Francisco Giants are in agreement on a three-year, $36 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. DeSclafani, 31, returns to the place he thrived last season, and the Giants' rotation rebuild is off to a good start.
