    Re: Calling all outfielders

I could see Lodolo, Barrero, and another good minor league piece being something the Reds would do, and it might be enough to get Baltimore interested depending on how Lodolo's shoulder checks out. I don't think they're going to move Greene unless some MLB ready SP comes back in the deal. If we could find a way to keep Greene and land Mullins then I think that's puts the Reds in a much better position to compete over the next few years. The O's will likely have a lot of strong offers pouring in though so I think they will be pretty firm on asking for Greene.

Lodolo, Hendrick and Lopez for Mullins. Yes please.

I sign Clint Frazier. Low risk high reward. Dude has fast powerful hands to the ball when he hits. Could absolutely rake in GABP. If the DH is in play, he and Winker don’t have to play at the same time.

As somebody who watches a lot of Orioles baseball, I can't see them trading their best player for considerations that far out in the future. O's fans are still waiting on the returns on Machado.

Mullins is a huge risk. Is he more Josh Hamilton and less Brady Anderson? You better be sure if you are emptying the farm

Another Orioles outfielder to think about, and who might be much less expensive, is Trey Mancini. He's slot nicely into RF.

I see that point of view, but people are telling me Lodolo should be in the big league rotation this year and Lopez might be the starter at 2B for them (last year it was Pat Valaika). They'd probably want Senzel instead of Lopez. I'd do it if they'd take Shogo off our hands. They can stick Shogo in CF and Senzel at 2B with Lodolo in the rotation at some point. Then the Reds could use Shogo's money to sign a reliever or a back end starter, but the starters I've seen go for $8 Million or less, I don't want much part of.

Clint Frazier screams "Reds" to me. This year's version of Naquin

He'd be a one year rental, his bat is only slightly above average and his defense is pretty bad. I'd offer Vlad and a couple 10 to 20 in the system prospects for him and they'd need to take Shogo to even the money. That would make CF a Senzel and Friedl tandem. Then trade Naquin for pitching help.

Naquin is a much better defender, but yeah he seems a fit as an aquino replacement.

I haven’t followed the whole conversation, so maybe I’m missing something, but the Orioles wouldn’t make that deal.

Probably not, but its all I'd go for a rental of a meh player who can't play defense.

I'm not trying to compare them as players but simply an oft-injured formerly highly regarded prospect who had shown flashes. Most importantly, will come cheap

I agree. I think he has more potential upside than Naquin though.

The Reds already have two physically fragile outfielders. Why add another one? I hasten to add that I hope
Naquin, Winker and Frazier enjoy long, injury-free careers. but their histories portend otherwise.
