What's happened with recruiting anyway? Thad Matta fell off at the end, but it felt like he was always bringing in first tier guys.

They have 5 guys coming in next year. 4 of them are top 100 guys and 2 of them profile as potential NBA guys.

You are right, he shouldn't be, and has played very sparingly.
I have no clue why things went they way they did last night. There seems to be some stalled development of some guys, Meechie comes to mind. Sotos is a depth piece who should get a couple minutes a game if Wheeler needs a rest.
While its an easy excuse, Sueing being out does hurt this team. He basically was a point forward, who could slash and actually score the ball.
Washington going to the league early was a surprise to many, and I am sure to Holtman as well. FWIW this team looks a lot different with Washington and Sueing in the 7 man rotation and Towns being a rotational piece when needed. But things got blown up rather early this season and just haven't improved.
They have had 7 games in the span of two weeks. That in itself is a pretty brutal schedule, but what is ironic, they beat the best two teams they played in that stretch.
As for recruiting, there definitely have been some misses. The last couple of highly rated classes OSU has brought up have gone up in flames. Dating back to the Thad years. Next season they seem loaded, especially if Branham comes back.
Oh weird, the way people talk it sounded like the roster was getting nuked after some of these current guys leave.

There is going to be a huge amount of turn over and it’ll be a super young team. If Branham comes back they will be pretty good though.

Basketball recruiting out of like the top 10-20 is a complete crap shoot. Michigan had an incredible class coming in this year and they were expected to run away with the conference and the recruits just haven’t lived up to their rankings.
Liddell being gone next year is just a huge loss.
