Oh yeah, Mack Jones also. I saw Fred Whitfield's name and I remember everyone loving him as a pinch hitter but I thought Mack Jones was more reliable back then.

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

It was so much fun watching hitters flair away at Daniel Ray Herrera's 26 MPH "fastball" for a couple of years.
David Weathers was so underappreciated. People wanted to replace him every year, and every year he'd just go get guys out.
When I was a kid I used to think Leo Garcia was some sort of supersub the Reds brought in every time the team needed a spark because I constantly saw him in the transactions bouncing between Cincinnati and Nashville

I don’t know if Aaron Harang was around for too long to be considered in this category, but for much of the time he was with the Reds, he was the only SP good enough to remind us that the Reds were a major league team. I love this thread and maybe someone would like to compile a team/roster from all these great suggestions and comment on how well they’d do as a team.
