    Re: Betty White RIP

She was born a week before my mother-in-law.

Steve Martin tweeted a story about 12 hours before Betty died that led some of us to wonder if she had passed away. I replied back to Steve and said he'd scared the cr** out me. Then boom, the news. The story was lovely really. Steve was opening for Linda Ronstadt at the Troubadour in LA in 1974. Walking through the lobby, he saw Betty and her husband Allen Ludden and introduced himself, saying how great it was to meet them. He finished with, "isn't Linda great." They said to him, they had come to see him because they heard he was funny. He was floored.

Now for your enjoyment, from 35 years ago, Betty White's "This is your Life."

I saw that at the grocery store yesterday. Anyone who pays $130 for that is just plain crazy.
