It's a lot to ask of a head coach. He doesn't have time to scout college players. Of course he has input but he can't be asked to do it all

Having said that, he was overruled in the Brady/ Garoppolo thing so he doesn't have absolute authority

I think Belichick is a legitimately great coach, but I could see maybe the league finally catching up to him and maybe the game is a changing a bit that he doesn’t have the same dominant grasp on the rest of the league that he used to.

Don’t forget early in 2020 in Brady’s last game as a Pat, they got run out in the first round too by the Titans.

Of course Joe Montana was on his roster every yr of his NFL coaching career so it's hard to make a big deal out of your point.

Tristan Wirfs out for TB big loss for the Bucs if he can't return.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

I think a better example is Tony Dungy. Think he's in the Hall of Fame w/o Peyton? No damn way

A chance for JMU’s own Josh Wells to step up.

The league catching up with Belichick is just the league catching him cheating enough times that he can’t do it as well as he used to.

Eagles look completely overmatched. Nice to see Gio get a TD.

Walsh was known as an "innovator" and mastermind on offense. Joe Montana greatly helped him in that regard.

Belichick is connected to Brady but people forget how good his defenses were. The Patriots won championships because their defenses allowed Brady to win more games than he ordinarily wouldn't have won. He hardly ever made coaching/ time management mistakes, knew the rulebook inside and out, and developed a culture where he could bring in guys like Randy Moss, etc.

NOT TO MENTION, Belichick lived in the salary cap era where it was much harder to win a Super Bowl without building Super Teams back in the day.

BRady and Belichick needed each other. The Roster in Tampa was already pretty solid. They had the same Team Offense rank as the year before with Winston but they brought in Todd Bowles to be their DC where they went from one of the worst to one of the best. Hell, even Winston would've looked a lot better with the defense they put together for Brady.

Watching Brady today is like watching Burrow last night.

A lot of salt toward Bill and I don't know why. Every coach needs a great QB to win a Super unless you're the 2000 Baltimore Ravens.

And the officiating making sure Eagles don't get the crazy idea they can compete in this game.

Those first 3 Super Bowls were mostly Belichick IMO. Brady was fine but didn't become a true star until that 2007 season.
