    2021 International Signing Day 1/15

The day to sign international free agents was moved last year and is apparently still on, despite the lockout.

That's good news for Cincinnati, as they are rumored to have unofficially signed three of MLB's top 50 international prospects: 17-year-old SS Ricardo Cabrera (3), Venezuelan 17-year-old SS Anthuan "El Capitan" Valencia (32), and 17-year-old Panamanian RF Esmith Pineda (49).

Cabrera is said to have a "60" hit tool, with all other tools at 55. He projects to be able to play SS, but should he fill out, may also be able to play 3B.

Velencia's best tools are his power (55) and fielding (55) at the SS position. Or perhaps it's his leadership skills.

Pineda has a history of success on the international stage, showing precocious pop. His best tool is his 55 arm, a prerequisite for RF.

Adding Cabrera and seemingly Alfredo Duno in the 2023 class seems like a rare W for the Reds international team in terms of landing top ranked guys.

Surprised the Reds weren't in on William Bergolla Jr lol. Could Ray Olmedo Jr be far behind??
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Re: 2021 International Signing Day 1/15

Today is officially the day for international signings to be declared.

I'm guessing we'll get a few scouting reports over the course of the day.

May want to go over to Doug's site to read them or perhaps Redleg Nation is more your style.

What other sites do you guys visit that may have news on these signings?

    I usually visit www.redszone.com

With that terrible joke aside, pretty excited about Cabrera. Kid just kind of looks like a pro. I know that’s really weak analysis, but it’s something about his face.
What would you say.....ya do here?

    Henry Guerrero, C, Venezuela
    Joneiker Arellano, RHP, Venezuela

Valencia looks like he's got good power and speed and should be able to stick at SS. His hit tool should prove interesting as well.

Nice haul. I kind of love Pineda's profile.

Cabrera instantly becomes a top-15 guy in the system. Are high-floor middle infielders the Reds' new obsession?

Middle infield is an old obsession. But plus power is relatively new.

All three big-time money prospects are apparently at least 55 power bats.

What are the chances any of these guys reach the majors? Have any other such signees made it in the past?
