Meat Loaf, the ‘I’d Do Anything for Love’ singer, dead at 74

We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man," the statement said. "We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!"

The singer grew up in Dallas, Texas, and moved to New York City after high school where he started landing Broadway roles like "Hair" and "the Rocky Horror Show" in 1975, Deadline reported.

My wife will be devastated. She’s borderline obsessed with the Bat Out of Hell album.

    RIP, Mr. Loaf.

My favorite and it has a baseball related part to it:

    "Paradise by the Dashboard Light"

My favorite version. Looks like he got a hot Dallas Cowboys cheerleader to duet with him:

Purely coincidental and set in motion before his passing.

Dinner tonight in our house: meat loaf.

I am too... it's Todd Rundgren's best work in the studio

But I'll always love this the most

Good doc about the making of the album, in case you haven’t seen it:

Sadly, we also lost Jim Steinman last year.

"Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" should be required listening for the Phil Rizzuto play-by-play alone.

And any guy who could do this on stage-- live-- deserves mad respect.

His viewpoints on vaccines, however... Well, that's a discussion for the Politics Board.

Grill company apologizes after sending meatloaf recipe on same day of rock star's death

Grill maker company Weber offered up a recipe on how to make “BBQ Meat Loaf” in an email on Friday, before realizing the message coincided with the death of actor and rock legend Meat Loaf, The Associated Press reported.

“At the time we shared this recipe with you, we were not aware of the unfortunate passing of American singer and actor Mr. Marvin Lee Aday, also known as Meat Loaf,” Weber said in a followup message, according to the news outlet. “We want to express our deepest apologies for this oversight and for any offense this email may have caused.”

Earlier this week, the actor and musician died at the age of 74. Meat Loaf, whose real name is Marvin Lee Aday, appeared in 65 films including “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “Fight Club,” “Wayne’s World” and “Focus.”

When I was a kid, there was a tv show that featured the song "If," by Bread.

My mom loved that song, had to have the 8-Track.

We go to Twin Fair there on Beechmont Avenue. We're looking through the selection of tapes, I hear my mom say,"There's Meat Loaf, we must be close."

I always thought of that video I have seen all these years was a live performance but watching it last week I realized there are no shots of an audience, or musicians, and there are a lot of cameras used. This live version was great!
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.
