If Single-Headers are 9 innings, Double-Headers should be also

This is something I don't mind either way.
Although if they are going to keep this rule, a 7 inning no hitter needs to count as a real no hitter.
I guess I Will vote "yes" that I like it, because a 7 inning game is kind of a time travel experience where the
starting pitcher can dominate the entire game. It makes the game a little different, and I must admit, I am more
likely to watch a whole doubleheader in this format.

I can see the argument for it, but I think it's a giant ripoff if it's a day/night doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games.

Incidentally, my votes on almost all of these have leaned "traditionalist," and I'm in the minority on most of them. Not this one, though. I guess opinions on the game have passed me by.

Re: What do you want - 7 inning doubleheaders

I’d prefer it just go back to 9 innings for all games, but if they were to have 7-inning doubleheaders that were scheduled fairly when the schedule comes out in order to chop a couple weeks off the regular season, I could get on board. So maybe you play one dh vs each division team home and away, and 4 or 6 more vs teams outside the division and you sell it as two games. But no more makeup game doubleheaders. If it was nine innings when the schedule came out, it remains nine innings.

Re: What do you want - 7 inning doubleheaders

In my youth, I fondly remember the scheduled Sunday doubleheaders at Riverfront in the 70's & 80's. It was a great opportunity to see some bench guys you normally didn't see play. Dad and I loved them. My mom and sister hated them. It was a tough day if the Reds lost both.

I voted 'No', but it's not as passionate a vote as the ones I placed against the Shift, the runner at second, and the DH.

I think the only one I've voted positively for is teh 3 batter minimum.

No thanks. 7 innings never felt like a real game to me. Maybe I’d get used to it, but it’s not like there’s usually bunch of doubleheaders.

Watching games on TV I am in favor of this. But I would probably feel differently if were going to the ballpark and paying full price for less than 9 innings. I voted yes but I am on the fence about it.

I voted no. I do not believe the idea is "stupid," as I can see some arguments for it, but in the end I do not like it.

Re: What do you want - 7 inning doubleheaders

If they actually schedule double headers so that every team is on an equal footing as far as playing the same amount of 7 inning games, I could live with it. If a 9 inning game gets postponed, it should be replayed as a 9 inning game even if it’s a double header. My gut feeling on the whole matter is that this is MLB. Play 9 innings.

As long as they count for .75 games in the standings, ok.

I started to vote yes, but I realized that a 3 1/2 hour game is too short.

Seriously, a lifetime of minor league games has given me tolerance on this one.

Nope. If you don't want to play two games, don't play two games.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
