    QB Carson Wentz could be ideal fit for the Steelers next season

    There are two ways to look at this. If the Steelers trade for Wentz, his cost by comparison to even a player like Jimmy Garoppolo would be a bargain. Wentz’s contract is big in 2022 but is structured in such a way that the final two seasons offer much more flexibility.

    However, there is a real possibility that the Colts won’t get any takers and they simply choose to release him. At that point it just becomes a matter of where Wentz wants to play and where the money is right. I’d like to think coming to a team with guys like Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool and Pat Freiermuth would be of some interest to the former North Dakota State prospect.

    The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Wentz No. 2 overall in the 2016 NFL draft. Pittsburgh is working to replace Ben Roethlisberger who retired at the end of the season and while we don’t know what direction the Steelers front office will go in, they could do much worse than Wentz.

    It the Steelers sign or trade for Wentz, that says they aren’t high on any QB in this class and are willing to punt for 2023 which is more loaded.

    He does sound like a nice fit for the Steelers but they won't spend $22mill on him. No one will.

    Former NFL QB thinks Russell Wilson to Washington would be a 'great move'

    If Wilson were to eventually request a trade from Seattle this offseason, former NFL quarterback and current analyst David Carr thinks the Washington Commanders would be a "great move" for the 33-year-old signal-caller.

    "Go to Washington. I feel like that would be a great move," Carr said.

    I saw today where Washington is making every player on it's roster available for trade to get a franchise QB....

    If I am Houston I would be on the phone quick for Chase Young and picks...

    Blue Checkmark Rich Ohrnberger (Fox ARadio Host) says Brady and Arians were a little conflicted. Seems to support what the article in Athletic said a couple days ago.

    Rich Ohrnberger
    @ohrnberger
    Heard some interesting things recently... The Tom Brady & Bruce Arians honeymoon was over in Tampa. The retirement announcement wasn't because of the trouble seeing eye to eye on the offensive game planning, but the relationship was souring.

    Apparently, while Arians was rehabbing the achilles in the early mornings, offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and Brady would work on the week's game plan. Arians would later come in and take the red pen to work they'd done. The QB and OC felt undermined, there was tension.

    Meanwhile there are rumbling that the Raiders and new management are in love, Unlike previous management who always seemed to be unsure and thinking of seeing other people.

    Jordan Schultz
    @Schultz_Report

    Feb 15
    Sources: With the full support of Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels, the #Raiders plan to offer Derek Carr top-tier QB money. I’m told that Carr is seeking in the range of $35M+. It’s also worth noting that both sides are open to a short-term extension.

    -------------------------------

    Teams just seem to go nuts throwing crazy money after Qb's that are solid but not among the leagues best.

    Meanwhile Schultz reports the craziness might have spread to Minnesota

    Kirk Cousins has zero intention of taking a pay cut, sources says. I’m told an extension could pay Cousins, 33, around $40M per year. #Vikings

    That's ok. It was a bogus report from a non-blue check person. When an Indy based Blue Check source said it was false, the first post was deleted.

    Indy would have to pay a huge majority of his contract for me trade for him.

    Ben Standig wrote that piece for the Athletic basically saying that even Chase Young is available for the right QB. Rivera recently stated that there is a sense of urgency in finding one. So maybe some speculation mixed in with some truth by Standig.

    Re: 2022's QB Carousel

    Judd Zulgad (non blue checkmark) of SKOR North (Blue checkmark) has reported that Carolina has called Minnesota to inquire about Cousins. In my mind, Carolina has made a lot of miscues recently (this coming from a Jags fan!!). To me, trading for a massively expensive QB that is not in Top 10 of QB's is the wrong way to go.

    Apparently talks did not progress.
