The CDC masking guidance is shifting from number of cases to considering hospitalizations - a change that should have been made over a year ago.

Instantly, their recommendation went from 95% of the country should wear masks to 70% should not.

    Because, Science™️
I really have no idea why a lot of people lack trust in the CDC. They're only a year behind.

7 day average new cases are now significantly below post-Delta lows and still falling. Hopefully headed for the pre-Delta levels of last June.

I've stopped wearing a mask in most places.

About those tests Biden sent you...

Be aware: That COVID-19 test kit in your home could contain a toxic substance that may be harmful to your children and you.

The substance is sodium azide, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center's Drug and Poison Information Center has seen a surge in calls about exposures to the chemical since more people started self-testing for COVID-19 at home.

    This is particularly troubling:

Fifty million U.S. households have received some version of the test kits, although it's not clear how many contain sodium azide.

As if the Pandemic didn't prove enough that we're doomed as a society, this has to be the cherry on top: "The extraction vials do look like small squeeze bottles or eye droppers. Some people may accidentally confuse them with medications and apply the drops into their eyes or nose, which may cause irritation"

I just heard from one of my customers this morning that they finally lifted the mask mandate in the factory. There’s one more company that still requires it, but I’ll bet they’re done with it next week.

Columbus mask mandate is no more

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The mask mandate for the city of Columbus is done.

Columbus City Council voted Monday afternoon to repeal the mandate requiring masks be worn in all indoor public spaces, and it was immediately signed by Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther.

The move follows both Franklin County removing its mask advisory and Columbus City Schools repealing its mandate last week.

Even with the mandate repealed, businesses can still make their own decisions on whether to require masks.

Study showing mask mandates aren't effective:

FCM mandates in schools were not associated with lower SARS-CoV-2 incidence or transmission, suggesting that this intervention was not effective. Instead, age-dependency was the most important factor in explaining the transmission risk for children attending school.

How Did This Many Deaths Become Normal?

"The U.S. is nearing 1 million recorded COVID-19 deaths without the social reckoning that such a tragedy should provoke. Why?"

    https://www.theatlantic.com/health/a...h-rate/626972/

The United States reported more deaths from COVID-19 last Friday than deaths from Hurricane Katrina, more on any two recent weekdays than deaths during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, more last month than deaths from flu in a bad season, and more in two years than deaths from HIV during the four decades of the AIDS epidemic. At least 953,000 Americans have died from COVID, and the true toll is likely even higher because many deaths went uncounted. COVID is now the third leading cause of death in the U.S., after only heart disease and cancer, which are both catchall terms for many distinct diseases. The sheer scale of the tragedy strains the moral imagination. On May 24, 2020, as the United States passed 100,000 recorded deaths, The New York Times filled its front page with the names of the dead, describing their loss as “incalculable.” Now the nation hurtles toward a milestone of 1 million. What is 10 times incalculable?
