Here’s some positive news about Paxlovid, a pill that could prevent thousands of hospitalizations and deaths for high-risk adults: https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/oth...9cadc080&ei=17

Natural immunity is not getting enough pub'...

A major study recently published at the Journal of Infectious Diseases showed that natural immunity, or postinfection immunity, was shown to provide 76 percent protection against Covid-19-associated hospitalizations during the Omicron surge, the researchers found. The Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, both using mRNA technology, provided just 39 percent protection for those without a prior infection.

Natural immunity also lasted longer than mRNA vaccination plus boosters, according to the study. During the Omicron surge, natural immunity protection against hospitalization was 74 percent for 150 or more days after infection. A primary vaccine series without prior infection provided just 39 percent protection beyond 149 days after the final shot. Three doses initially provided 81 percent protection but this faded to just 31 percent after 150 or more days following the last shot.

Gee, I guess NBC was fooled too:

Immunity acquired from a Covid infection is as protective as vaccination against severe illness and death, study finds

Seems pretty simple. Covid booster shots work and are highly recommended, however, if you happen to get Covid you can wait 6 months before your next booster shot.

My dad is in his 70s and used this after he got Covid last year.

Only complaint was it left a weird metal type taste in his mouth, but he had no other side effects and didn’t even really have very bad Covid symptoms after the second day. He was fully vaccinated and had the first booster when he got Covid.

Great to hear, overall. How long did the metal taste last? Hopefully just a day or two.

My doctor prescribed this to me after I tested positive for COVID. The only side effect I noticed was that it kind of tore up my stomach when I first started taking it. But otherwise it was fine and I think it helped a lot.

It was really bad for 2 days, to the point he didn’t have much of appetite and was using mouth wash pretty often. Was better day 4 and gone day 5.

That metal taste was a side effect of Covid for me way back in the days before there were any vaccines or medicines for it.

Ugh, that sounds pretty bad. Hopefully, they’ll be able to modify it so the side effects are reduced.

No fun at all, but probably better than losing your taste all together. I know a few people that had for weeks+.

Reading the information and understanding it was not the point of this exercise.
