Someone in DeShaun Watson's camp grew a brain as he finally went from "I did nothing wrong" to "I will get counseling" in his impromptu press conference yesterday. He should have been begging for mercy for a while now. The idea that close to 30 women made these stories up in some grand conspiracy was always insulting to anyone with half a brain.

I like the Browns and would have to agree with all that.

I mean if it's few women I think you can make a case he's an innocent/misunderstood man but 24? I'd have to think there's gotta be some smoke to that fire.

I still like and root for the team but this whole story has taken some wind out of the sail

I'm still waiting to get a look at Calvin Austin III (and Pickett, of course). If Austin is as advertised, adding him to Diontae Johnson, Claypool, Pickens, and Freiermuth will set up a crazy talented receiving corps. That's not couting Harris (super target out of the backfield) return specialist/WR Gunner Olszewski or guys like Miles Boykin and Stephen Sims; both of the latter are fighting for a roster slot, along with Anthony Miller.

The O-line still looks like it might still stink though, although not to the degree it did last year. I thought Trubisky, in limited reps, looked good. Mason Rudolph looks like...well, Mason Rudolph. Probably has two throws that should have been picked. No idea about the defense as the primary DL/Edge players aren't playing.

So the Steelers WR are better than the Bengals because after the top 3 guys there’s not much.

I wouldn't say that. Chase is clearly one of the best receivers in the NFL and Higgins is legit, so the ceiling auto-starts at a higher place for the Bengals guys. For Pittsburgh, Johnson's electric, but hits streaks of the dropsies. Claypool has multi-million dollar talent, but his head is questionable. Pickens and Austin are both extremely talented, but rookies, even if Freiermuth is rock solid at TE. Talent only gets you so far, which is why a guy like Boykin is fighting for a roster spot with his second team.

Kenny Pickett- 13 for 15, 95 yards, 2 TD/0 INT, 3 rushes for 16 yards, tossed the game-winning catch-and-run 24 yard TD with 00:03 left in the fourth. Played exclusively with backups and roster-hunters. I wasn't hoping that Pickett would look great, only that he didn't look terrible.

    Well, he looked great.

Personally would not call Pickens a hidden gem....guy was a 5 star stud in high school and a stud at UGA when healthy......just was not healthy much after his Freshman season. I thought it was crazy a guy that talented slid that late in the draft......clearly 1st Round talent.

A guy that impressed me tonight was Skylar Thompson....the rookie QB out of K State that plays for the Dolphins. Tua and Bridgewater did not play, so he got all of the snaps.....and did not really look like a rookie. It was against 2nd and 3rd string defenders on the Bucs, but the Bucs shut down the run and brought heat on him all night.....and for the most part the guy just handled it without making any big mistakes. He will be QB#3 this year, but he may actually have a future in the NFL.

This has to be the most enjoyable pre-season game I have ever watched. Maybe because of the quarterback battle of the Steelers.

Looks like 11 game suspension for Watson with a 5 million dollar fine...plus an issued apology.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

    Re: 2022 NFL Season

Why does he have to apologize for something he claims never happened?

What the Cleveland organization did, the huge sacrifices made, to acquire Watson (who I believe is guilty as hell), was the last nail in the coffin for me when it comes to the NFL. My interest has been waning these last few years anyway, and replaced with college football. But if money ends up finally ruining it, I still have my golf in retirement (lol).

I'm simply tired of these major sports taking advantage of, and sticking it, to their respective fanbases, and how much money they can squeeze out of us.
