The La'el Collins era begins. He was activated today and on the practice field.

Great article from The Athletic where beat writers asked guys in the locker room who they are excited to see play tonight:

    https://theathletic.com/3498218/2022...ason-dax-hill/

Lot of obvious picks like Dax, but some other guys:

Kwamie Lassiter with a ton of mentions
Jeff Gunter, mentioned a ton and emphatically

    Really interesting article overall.

    Jackson Carmen is still bad.

    Evan McPherson is still good.

I do hope the Vollsted fella is a better reach than Carman was.

They really do stink at drafting/development of OL. It’s like the Bengals version of the Reds bullpen.

We have to wait for Membengal to give us his full assessment before he's considered a bust even though most of us already knew that 3 seconds after he was drafted.

FWIW, Quinton Spain tweeted a picture of downtown Cincy.

McPherson is gonna make a 70 yarder this year. The leg cannon on this guy is unreal.

[QUOTE=Kingspoint;4449636]Starting for the Chargers last year was like starting for the Bengals last year. They sucked big time.

And I would still take what the Had as a backup to these OL. Just worse possible backup OL.

We can only hope for the best health ever for the starters.

They clearly drafted him expecting him to play RG in '21 and RT in '22. I'd move him back to tackle and let him compete with Prince for a backup spot. I'd rather have someone better than Spain at LG and they have the cap space to go trade for someone. But at the minimum they should bring Spain back to compete with Volson.

The Bengals had him out there as the only starter last night...he failed the audition. The entire line looked awful last night if one person goes down it won't be pretty.

Time to move on from the Jackson Carmen experiment. Let him develop as a depth piece.

Can they possibly trade a surplus DL for an OL. It worked with Price for BJ Hill in the opposite way.

Spain is serviceable you could bring him in cheap plus he knows the system.

Let Volson and Spain duel the rest of the preaeason.

Another option is not drafting T and trying to make them Guards. Kinnard from Kentucky was available and he is a G. The Bengals like doing this. Like the Reds with their making relievers into starters. Or was it the other way around. I forget the incompetence.

They had success with Whit but have not been able to do it since...I liked Kinnard too.
